Press Release 19th November 2010 -
After almost 2 years of visible recession and with the arrival of the worst budget in history looming, Ireland’s economic landscape bears little resemblance to the surprisingly recent Celtic Tiger days. The “Tiger” initially flourished on the seemingly endless Irish property boom but left the property industry a bleak prospect for many local  businesses in the aftermath of the bust.

Thankfully, the resilience of the Irish has made way for an occasional good news story when there are few. Motivated and determined to  avoid the downturn,20 local companies in Cavan & Meath have led an inspiring move to combine forces and created Trades & Services Group. The group includes companies providing services from mortgages to metal partitions, solicitors to stairs, carpentry to cavity wall insulation and everything in between.

Trades & Services Group companies offer complimentary services which are all related to the property industry. The companies in  the Group were picked for their high standard of work and quality service and work together in order to provide a better service to their customers.

Chris  Smith, Chairman and one of the founding members of the Group said recently, "The aim of Trades & Services Group is to provide the customer with the best service from the most reputable, competent and honest providers. The overall idea is that  customers will have peace of mind choosing the service from one of the companies within our Group with the knowledge they have been handpicked  and work to the same high standard."

Although other groups have been created with a variety of companies coming together, The Trades & Services Group is unique in its deliberate strategy to include only companies that have a connection to the property industry and offer a different service to those already in the Group.

Dragon's Den panellist, Gavin Duffy said, "It’s a fantastic example of entrepreneurship and an inspirational initiative in these tough times. Trades & Services Group has offered a refreshing approach where the customer is still their focus and priority in a time where finances are dominating the motives of many companies."
